Pharmacy Website Costs and What to Include

A practical guide to scoping a pharmacy website quote: build, care, SEO, booking software and the costs to clarify before you commit.

Compare the whole scope

A pharmacy website quote is useful only when it explains what the pharmacy receives. A low build price can leave booking, updates, service pages and SEO outside the agreement. A monthly price can bundle several different services without making the boundaries clear.

Compare setup work, ongoing work and third-party charges separately. Ask for a written scope and identify which costs repeat. There is no single price that fits every existing site or pharmacy group.

Website build or improvement

  • The number and purpose of pages, including existing pages to preserve.
  • Design, mobile layouts, service information, opening hours and contact routes.
  • Migration of URLs and redirects where an existing website is replaced.
  • Booking integration and a clear distinction between integration work and software licences.
  • Testing, launch arrangements and who supplies and approves content.

Ongoing care

Clarify who handles updates, backups, security checks, hosting and routine content changes. Agree how support requests are made and which work needs a separate quote.

Ask how website access, domains, files and third-party accounts are handled if the arrangement ends. Record those terms in the quote rather than assume that all suppliers work the same way.

SEO is a separate programme of work

SEO may include service-page improvements, Google Business Profile, technical fixes and reporting. It is not the same as keeping plugins updated. Agree the initial priorities and how you will judge progress.

At GM SEO Services, website SEO foundations start at £299/month. Growth at £699/month includes local SEO and Google Business Profile work. Pharmacy builds and website care are quoted separately. A comprehensive standalone SEO audit is £299.

Check the extra costs

  • Booking-provider subscriptions and payment processing fees.
  • Premium plugins, licences, domain renewals and any agreed hosting arrangements.
  • Photography, new clinical content or integrations outside the initial scope.
  • VAT treatment and cancellation terms shown in the written agreement.

Start with the existing website

You may need a rebuild, but targeted improvements can sometimes address the immediate problem. A first check should look at service discovery, mobile booking, technical health and whether important pages are visible in Google.
